Complimenting
the grand architecture of the Frank Phillips Home
are its beautiful gardens and grounds. Peak
bloom is achieved in August, September and October.
Eight hundred to one thousand impatiens greet
visitors at the entrance in an explosion of color.
Begonia and ornamental sweet potato vines in various
colors spill out over the sidewalk. Roses,
crape myrtle, coreopsis, cannas, hibiscus, lavender,
and fall-blooming iris are the perennials in bloom.
Aged cedar, arborvitae, willow, oak and magnolia
trees provide abundant shade. Manicured
boxwood gracefully edge the Home’s foundation.
After taking a tour of the Home, guests can stroll
leisurely on the grounds and relax in the restored
gazebo, or visit the vintage greenhouse and potting
shed.
